Lauren is a family nurse practitioner, weight loss consultant, and public speaker/educator.
Lauren’s journey started over a decade ago when she first entered the medical field. She graduated from the University of Kentucky with excitement and a deep desire to help others live a healthier life! After working as a nurse practitioner in the traditional medical model for several years, she soon realized the system was broken. She was left feeling like she wasn’t truly helping her patients…instead she was just putting a bandaid on their bigger problems without addressing the underlying root cause.Â
Once she realized she was no longer aligned with traditional medicine, she began to pray and seek a new direction for her career. After some deep soul searching, she launched Lauren Gary Wellness in 2023 and her fire and passion finally came back!
She now works with women through private health consulting with a primary focus on weight loss and healthy lifestyle. And the best part…she finally feels like she is truly helping people again! She has the time, freedom, and energy to coach women in a unique way and help them in a much deeper capacity than primary care ever allowed. As she embraces this new opportunity to help women with weight loss, Lauren feels more aligned with God’s purpose for her life and you can feel that passion and energy come to life when you hear her share her story!

I was a nurse practitioner working in primary care and I knew all the things I SHOULD be doing when it came to living a healthy life. But because of busy schedules and a new baby (and quite frankly a lack of motivation), I let my health fall to the backburner. I didn’t exercise very often because I was too exhausted and overwhelmed. I ate whatever was convenient. I started having anxiety. I was always tired and had zero energy. And I just felt MISERABLE. I realized that after my son was born, my focus was now 100% on my new little family and somewhere along the way I had started neglecting myself.Â
After living like this for several years, I became dissatisfied with my body. I lacked confidence. I hated seeing photos of myself. And I felt so broken, fatigued, and ashamed. How did I let my weight, my health, and my life get to this point?! I quickly realized that by not taking care of myself, I was doing a huge disservice to not only myself but also to my little family who I loved so very much!
Even after reaching that point, I thought I knew the strategies and steps I needed to take in order to lose weight, have more energy, and gain my confidence back. I spent so much time & money trying “fad diets”, short term exercise plans, juice cleanses, and supplements for weight loss. I spent years counting calories, restricting foods, and yo-yoing between being somewhat healthy and just falling off the bandwagon again. Gaining and losing weight. On and off anxiety meds. I tried NOOM, KETO, weight watchers, and so many others. I even tried prescription medication for weight loss at one point. I was desperate to try anything y’all, but nothing was working. No matter what I tried to do in order to lose weight, I just couldn’t lose it and keep it off. Because as it turns out, I was doing it all wrong…
But then I changed my focus and I started seeing results!
After 4 years of struggling with weight gain, low confidence, zero energy, and lots of anxiety…I finally decided to change my approach to weight loss. Rather than focusing on LOSING WEIGHT, I started focusing on living a healthier lifestyle.
And let me tell you, this made all the difference for me. I ate foods that I enjoyed eating and that left my body feeling GOOD. I fueled my body with fruits, vegetables, protein, and yes…even carbs. I enjoyed a sweet treat from time to time without bullying myself or feeling guilty about it. I made movement fun and started incorporating it into my daily life. Hiking, paddle boarding, walking, running, jumping on the trampoline with my son, you name it!. I started going outside more. Enjoying the sunshine. Getting fresh air. I started focusing on my mental health and spent more time reading my bible, praying, and listening to uplifting music. I learned the benefits of self-care and listening to what my body actually needed each day. I gave myself patience & forgiveness. I began to see myself how the Creator of the universe sees me…and guess what happened??? I simply started to love myself again.Â
This was a game-changer, y’all. When I made the switch to focus on a healthy life rather than a weight loss regimen, it all clicked. It became EASY. I lost weight, gained muscle, felt better, slept amazing, got off my anxiety meds, and felt like I was finally showing up 100% for my family and for myself!
And now I know without a doubt it is my life’s calling to help YOU get here, too.
Once I realized how easy & fun weight loss could be, I decided I wanted to help as many women as I can get to this same point. No more fad diets. No more feeling restricted or counting calories. No more nasty meal replacement bars. Just real people living the life God intended for them and finding joy in the process.
I created a program that uniquely teaches women what I learned through my transformation and how they can apply some of these same principles to their life in order to lose weight, gain confidence, find energy, laugh more, and live an overall healthier life!Â
Because now it’s simple. It all makes sense. My background in traditional medicine. My personal struggles with weight gain. My journey to get where I am today.
